My name is Christopher Pride.  I’m a 37 year old dad born in Long Beach, CA.  I moved to Ashland, Oregon in 1995 and decided to stay and go to school.  After finishing a degree in Business, working as a Real Estate Broker in Oregon, i decided to have some fun and go sailing.   I always wanted to go sailing again.  To really learn how to sail.  After a little research i decided to take an ASA class and have some fun.

That was it.  I was hooked.

Years of working more, playing less, research and longings led to an epiphany. I decided to Sail.  Just sail.  So simple yet so completely right.  Rarely had something felt so natural and so much fun.

Fast forward through a short time of bouncing back between sailing, classes, and what i saw as a mundane day-to-day lifestyle (e.g. work), I decided to go ahead and ditch that predictable life of owning a home, and continuing the American dream.  Instead my goal became simple: to obtain a sail-worthy vessel and do some long-term cruising.

So this is my website to suit that purpose.  To not only share my story, my thoughts, random ideas and ramblings, but to keep in touch, document my encounters, and perhaps provide a little hope and clarity to those wishing to shed the chains of daily life in pursuit of adventure.
